Behind the Girl – Interview with Kristina Emerson
This is a new segment we are going to be dong from time to time so that you guys can get to know the models we shoot a little better. A couple of months back we had the pleasure of spending some time with Kristina Emerson one afternoon in Venice Beach. Check out her interview and pics from the shoot.
Introduce yourself to the world
My name is Kristina Emerson. I was born and raised in Nashville, TN and went to college at Auburn University in Alabama. Southern girl at heart And I have my bachelor’s degree in Public Relations. I’m half filipino and half caucasian.
How did you get into what you are doing?
I’ve been modeling since I was 15 years old, but have always been “short.” So then when I came out to LA I started doing more commercial work which led me into acting. Now acting is my biggest passion. I’ve always had this feeling in my gut that I’m meant to do more. Whatever that means haha. I just want to inspire and be inspired.
If you had a chance to have dinner with anybody in the world, who would that be and what would you ask them?
I would have dinner with Natalie Portman and I’d ask her if she’d be my best friend… and ask advice just about life!
What music are you into and what have you been listening to today?
I LOVE music. One of my favorite things to do is to download newly discovered music and see live shows. I believe music makes everything better. I love pretty much anything but country music. It’s hard to put a label on my favorite genre.. indie rock? Lately, I’ve been really into Alt-J, The XX, The National, Bon Iver, and Lorde. Some of my all time favorites include Death Cab for Cutie, Guster, James Taylor, and Sigur Ros. I could go on forever about music so I’ll stop myself here.
Whats your take on mobile technology? Do you have a smart phone and what apps are you using the most? Whats a great app recommendation you can give?
I don’t have much of an opinion on mobile technology. I own an iPhone and love it! The apps I use most are instagram and twitter. And if you need to scan a form or something you’ve signed, I recommend using the Genius Scan app
Whats your idea of an ideal night/date?
Staying in, ordering take-out and watching a movie or a bunch of episodes of one of my favorite series (Breaking Bad, Dexter, Six Feet Under, Downton Abbey, GIRLS,….).
Have you ever been recognized when walking around for anything you have done? (fan submission)
Nope not yet!
Whats is the most dangerous/most daring thing you’ve ever done?
Get into acting. It’s the craziest thing a person can do.
What does the word “Sexy” mean to you?
Feeling beautiful in your own skin.
Tell us one thing about yourself that you have never told anybody. You have an open forum to come clean…..
I love the smell of Sharpie permanent markers. Every time I open one I have to take a little sniff because I think it smells so good. I’m weird.
